National Ozone Unit, Jamaica
The National Ozone Unit (NOU) was established in 1991 to facilitate the phase out of ozone/Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and other Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) in Jamaica. The phase out is part of Jamaica's obligations under the Montreal Protocol on Substances that deplete the Ozone Layer which stipulates that parties (countries) agree to control consumption (import and export) and production.
